You had to lie through your teeth in order to sell an overpriced product to someone, who probably didnt want it in the first place. The secret was to not let the customer get a word in until eventually you wore them down , and you made a sale.

Mind you on a less self indulgent note, let me say, those jobs probably were not really as bad as I paint them. They just did not suit my temperament.
